the fever

when I was a kid there was fever…in it there was a plane, the kind that is flat, it extended across the room, miles, it bounced from corner to corner, and slammed. it was loud. Painfully so.

My hands did not feel like balloons, I wasn’t concerned with them, I wanted to stay away from the void, the plane was empty but forever.

This is an ode to running into that void not away from it, to doing the small hard things every day, to going after what is hard, what hurts, to standing up…in public
